BREEAM UK New Construction, Non-domestic Buildings (United Kingdom), Technical Manual, SD5078: BREEAM UK New Construction 2018 3.0, published by BRE Global Limited, defines a suitably qualified energy modeller as an individual who:
- Holds a degree or equivalent qualification in building services or a sustainability related subject.
- Has a practical experience of conducting energy modelling and has appropriate knowledge of the tool being used, e.g. has attended training by independent providers.
- Is a member of a professional body such as CIBSE.
